The Story Spark was connected to Native American Heritage. Not being of Native American Heritage, I chose to write from my own perspective, which hopefully connects to some Native American Ideals. We had 25 minutes to write.
A World Vision
I am one with the earth. My spirit, within me, guides me on how the world should be. One cannot sit back and let those who don’t cherish and protect what we’ve been given destroy that which was meant to be.
Though born of the Jewish faith, I call myself a Secular Humanist. I believe in people. I believe that we have control of our actions and are not products of out worldly being or beings that determine our path in life.
I do need another term to define myself, for though I believe in people, that does not mean that I only care for people, for people are only a part of where we exist.
I want to be part of existence. I want to be connected to the earth, the sky, the animals, and all living creatures and things that grow and provide universal life energy. They can be of this world or any other world. I hold no boundaries.
I believe in choice. We choose what we become and how we grow. That creates some conflict, because I know some do not believe in others. They believe only in themselves and power. They are the give-me ones, not the sharing ones.
I never want to wish anyone harm, but I wouldn’t mind if all those who live with selfish, hateful, and power-hungry dispositions that hurt or seek to hurt others were taken away and all placed in a location together where they can practice their thoughts and evil intent on each other. Isolated in such a way that they can’t continue what they live for on the innocent.
Until that day, I continue to let my spirit guide me to the way the world should be. I will be one with the earth. I remain optimistic that someday, hopefully in my lifetime, we can all live as one. That we can all believe in each other and work together cooperatively, empathically, and respectfully, and build that better world for us and future generations.
