A to Z Challenge 2020: P is for Prepare

P is for Prepare

P is for prepare, for that is what they say

To make sure that you’re ready on each and every day

To sit back and do nothing, can only cause you harm

Because if you’re not ready, you will end up far from calm

Today, the world is shattered by this virus that has spread

And you’re trapped at home defenseless on a meager crust of bread

Had you thought before it happened so your larder could be stocked

You would have good food aplenty when this nasty virus knocked

Now you’re stuck at home and worried, anxious and you’re full of fear.

And the ones you want to help you are told not to be so near.

But they try their best to give you aid, with worries of their own

For they hate to see you helpless; they’ll make sure you’re not alone.

Keep your distance and be thankful for the ones that show they care

With their courage and their values and the time they choose to share

We will find a better world I hope when this battle ends its run

And the virus leaves us all alone and all is said and done

So be prepared from now on and make sure you listen well

To all the public warnings and advice that experts tell

Make sure you’re facts are verified and only follow through

To what is best for others and still keeps a better you.

About hdh

I have been telling stories for over 40 years and writing forever. I am a retired teacher and storyteller. I hope to expand upon my repertoire and use this blog as a place to do writing. The main purpose is to give me and others that choose to comment, a space in which to play with issues that deal with storytelling, storytelling ideas, storytelling in education, reactions to events, and just plain fun stories. I explore some of my own writing throughout, from character analysis, to fictional, to poetry, and personal stories. I go wherever my muse sends me. Enjoy!
