My Theme this April is “My Muse Says…”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Story spark for this story was Book Titles.<\/p>\n

The writing prompt I took was the book title\u00a0The Lion and the Unicorn.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following 5-part tale is what my muse said I should write.<\/p>\n

(Part 1 of 5 of The Unicorn and the Lion)<\/span><\/i><\/em><\/p>\n

A – The Adventure\u00a0 Begins<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It was to be an adventure. Jack, Gretel, the Gruff brothers, the Teeny-tiny Woman, and Pinocchio went over to the wise man\u2019s house for the task.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was an old man, sitting in the middle of the path, holding a walking stick, and seemed to be meditating when they came and interrupted his thoughts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking for an adventure,\u201d they said, all in one voice, \u201cWe want to go on a quest. Can you give us one?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The wise man slowly opened his eyes wider and put his pipe down. He looked the seven of them over and said, \u201cMany have come to me for advice, but you come for adventure. Very interesting. Well, if it\u2019s an adventure you want, you must seek a unicorn.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cUnicorns are mythical beasts,\u201d said Jack.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gretel followed up with, \u201cHow do you find a mythical beast?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAhh!\u201d said the wise man. \u201cThat is where the adventure comes in.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Gruff brothers broke out of a huddle they were having, and as three said, \u201cIf it is to find something with a horn, we can do it. We\u2019ve had experience with our horns.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s true,\u201d the wise man replied, \u201cBut you were the ones with the horns, and you didn\u2019t exactly find that Troll. He found you\u2026on his bridge, I believe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNonetheless,\u201d said the biggest billy goat Gruff, \u201cWe will assist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Teeny-tiny woman who was perched on Pinocchio\u2019s shoulder whispered into his wooden ear. \u201cI believe the lion knows.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Pinocchio repeated what was said, and everyone looked at each other and nodded their heads in agreement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We thanked the wise man for his counsel and went off to seek the lion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t have far to look. In fact, the lion was looking for them, or should I say he was looking for a meal, and he happened upon them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He licked his jowls and prepared to pounce when Pinocchio stepped forward and called out,\u00a0 \u201cWe are on a quest to find a Unicorn. We were told you would help us and not eat us.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The lion, who noticed Pinocchio\u2019s nose growing a bit longer, was well-versed on quests but didn\u2019t know Pinocchio\u2019s background story asked, \u201cWhy should I believe you?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Pinocchio was quick to respond, \u201cBecause fairies have endowed me with a magical talent. Whenever I tell the truth, my nose grows longer.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This made his nose grow even longer.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lion also understood the power of fairy magic and agreed to help the adventurers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And so this adventure begins.<\/span><\/p>\n
