A Tale of Fashion<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDid you hear about the latest fashion?\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLet me guess,\u201d he said, \u201cCould it be a tuxedo?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWow,\u201d she said, \u201chow intuitive you are. Of course, it\u2019s not a tuxedo. Everyone wears those.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s our native costume,\u201d he replied.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat is why it\u2019s not a new fashion. This has to do with your feet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat about our feet? We don\u2019t wear anything on our feet.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s true, but don\u2019t your feet always get cold?\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA\u2026We walk on ice.\u201d was his reply.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s true, but what if you could put something on your feet so they wouldn\u2019t be cold?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd how would we do that? We don\u2019t have any hands.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese slip on, you just put your feet into them,\u201d she said, getting a bit frustrated. \u201cWhat do our kids do when they get cold?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey put their cold feet on top of ours?\u201d he replied questioningly. Their feet stay warm, and ours get cold on top and bottom.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTheir feet do stay warm. So what if you could have something warm to put your feet on?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI guess that would work, but where would you find something like that?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She replied, \u201cIt just so happens that I found an open crate by the place where all the ships come in filled with these foot warmers. Everybody\u2019s wearing them now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSeriously,\u201d he said, \u201cand the people there don\u2019t mind.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t seem so. They all laugh and take pictures of us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey always do that. Why are they laughing?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She said, \u201cThere is a problem with wearing these foot warmers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that would be?\u201d he questioned<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey are very slippery when we walk. Oh yeah\u2026they tend to slip off when we dive to get supper. I think that\u2019s why they laugh.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ll pass on the \u2018slippers,\u2019 if you know what I mean.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re so old-fashioned,\u201d she said. \u201cGet with the times. You\u2019re only a penguin once you know.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know, and I like uniformity, not fashion. A penguin is what a penguin is. Let\u2019s leave it at that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSuit yourself,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c I will. There\u2019s nothing wrong with a tuxedo,\u201d he replied, \u201clook around and you\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
