Just Relax<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cRelax!\u201d
\nThis was the 5th time she told me to do that.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying!\u201d I replied.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYes, you are very trying. But you still have to relax.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I never should have gone to this meditation class with her. I\u2019m much better on my own.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know what you\u2019re thinking,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Great now I have something else not to relax about. \u201cJust give me a minute,\u201d I asked.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI did.\u201d she answered, \u201cThat was 5 minutes ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Okay, all I need to do is focus on something relaxing. How about reading? The last book I read was <\/span>Premonition<\/span> by Michael Lewis, a great book, however all about the pandemic. Definitely not relaxing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Okay then, How about gardening? That would be more like weeding. Again, no good.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sitting on the beach watching the sunset? That has possibilities, except it is now below freezing outside.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t you think about me knitting that sweater, you asked for?\u201d she said interrupting my train of thought.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYou mean the one you promised me last year and never finished?\u201d There was no reply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe I could focus on petting our cat, that should be relaxing\u2026at least for the cat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sitting on my porch sipping a hot chocolate on this nice cold day? Oops, probably shouldn\u2019t have imagined myself drinking anything, now I have to go to the bathroom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is your last chance, time\u2019s running out,\u201d she pointed out.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhy don\u2019t you relax, after all, meditation is your thing,\u201d I pointed out.<\/span><\/p>\n

At that point, that is exactly what she did. She just closed her eyes and took it easy. It was as simple as that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At least she\u2019s not pestering me to relax anymore. And at that point, I relaxed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
