\u201cIt\u2019s time to leave for dinner,\u201d my dad said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOkay, I\u2019m ready…Oh, just wait.\u201d was her reply.<\/span><\/p>\n

There was no need to rush, I thought. I\u2019ve seen this act before, we\u2019ve got a least half an hour before we will actually leave. Now it was wait time. What to do?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There would be at least two more requests to leave, prior to Vesuvius erupting. I went back to my room looking for something to do. Maybe I could start watching a movie. You never know this could be a marathon. So what to watch? Let\u2019s see.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHeaven Can Wait\u201d 1978 – Sounds good, but if you’ve seen “Here Comes Mr. Jordan” 1941 in your youth, who wants to watch a remake.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWait till Your Mother Gets Home\u201d 1983 – That sounds possible. A good contrast to “Wait till my mother leaves home right now” which is happening live.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to leave, now,\u201d my father shouts. Ahh. getting close to Vesuvius time.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m almost ready, just a minute… Oh, wait, \u201d was mom\u2019s reply.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll Wait for you\u201d is another 1941 film – Maybe my father should watch that one.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWait for Me in Heaven\u201d 1988 – That\u2019s impossible. I\u2019ve already overheard that argument between them on who\u2019s going to heaven and who\u2019s going to hell. Don\u2019t think there will be any waiting going on then.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWait till the Sun Shines, Nellie\u201d 1952 – Maybe that should be renamed Wait till the sun shines, mommy. More realistic to today’s scenario.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s it, if you don\u2019t come now, I\u2019m leaving without you,\u201d my father again. This is usually the precursor to Vesuvius.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be there in one second…Oh, Wait!\u201d mom\u2019s retort.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWait for me in Another World\u201d 2007 – Well if the heaven\/hell thing doesn\u2019t work there\u2019s always that.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWait until Dark\u201d 1967 – Well if the sun don\u2019t shine then I guess that is the alternative.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next thing I hear is the front door slamming. And there it goes – the volcano has erupted. Time for me to go outside with my dad and try to calm him down, knowing my mother will now appear within minutes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There was no discussion on the way to the restaurant. There rarely is.\u00a0 And of course, when we got to the restaurant we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. Luckily, the food was good. As for me though I couldn\u2019t wait to get home. I needed to watch one of my favorite movies. \u201cAbout Time\u201d 2013 –\u00a0 though I wouldn\u2019t want to be able to redo this experience.
