After one such lesson, one boy came up to me and asked if I could write about him. So I did.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><a href=\"http:\/\/hdhstory.net\/Storyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/C-is-for-courageous-e1580526074592.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1931\" src=\"http:\/\/hdhstory.net\/Storyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/C-is-for-courageous-e1580526074592-300x188.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"100\" srcset=\"http:\/\/hdhstory.net\/Storyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/C-is-for-courageous-e1580526074592-300x188.jpg 300w, http:\/\/hdhstory.net\/Storyblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/C-is-for-courageous-e1580526074592.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 160px) 100vw, 160px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0is for Courageous<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Conor\u2019s stature is small but his heart is so large.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That when there is trouble, he wants to take charge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He must try to remember all the things he\u2019s been taught.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He knows what he\u2019s doing; there is only one thought.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To do all he can and to show what he\u2019s learned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He will try to help out despite those concerned.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s their trust and respect, the hard work he puts in,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As he tries to make peace and eventually win.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It takes courage, he knows and he shows that he\u2019s strong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As he questions and comments and rights what is wrong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To show he is caring, to set the world straight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To protect those he helps, which makes him feel great.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Courageous and caring and a friend, well, that\u2019s Conor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He\u2019s the one that you turn to, he&#8217;s the one you should honor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Be his friend, share your thoughts; let your stories unfold<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He\u2019ll be there when you need him, till you\u2019re both very old.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve often explained to students I teach, that when I write stories, a lot of my characters are based on real people I know.
